Its Getting Hot!!

Here is a nice treat that you dog will love you for!  “Kool Collars” are a newbie to the market and are proving to be very popular. They are a specially designed colour that contains a “Kool Tube” which can be frozen then inserted into the Kool Collar cover. As your dog wears it the melting ice acts as artificial perspiration which helps prevent heatstroke.

At the beginning and during each day we use a LOT of newspapers and shredded paper in our animal pens. Supplies have been difficult to get hold of the last few weeks and we are in urgent need of more. If you have any newspapers or shredded paper please drop it by to us. The puppies, bunnies and birds will greatly appreciate it!!

Bearded Dragons Available Now!

Here at Pet City Balcatta we have a range of reptiles currently available. We have in store and ready to go home Stimsons Pythons, South West Carpet Pythons, Marbled Velvet Geckos, Northern Green Tree Frogs, Magnificent Green Tree Frogs and Bearded Dragons.

We are full of baby birds!! Baby handraised Sun Conure, Pink and Grey Galah and two Alexandrine Parrots!! All very, very friendly and affectionate! Come in for a cuddle quick as they won’t be here for long!!

House Covered in Your Pets Hair?

It is that time of year – cats and dogs all over the place are moulting. All of a sudden the sofa is covered, floor boards are covered in ‘hair balls’, outdoor areas have a carpet look about them and each time we give our buddy a cuddle we walk away looking like a plush toy. New to our store here in Balcatta is the FurBuster range. These wonderful devices aim at removing your shedding pets dead hair before it actually fall out all over you and your home. With interchangeable blades to suit different size dogs and cats they are a must have for moulting season.

We have a Pet Stylist operate through our store each Tuesday. We cater for dogs of all sizes, from Golden Retrievers to Chihuahuas. So if your dog is in need for a complete clip, hydrobath, nail trim and ear pluck or just a hydrobath, give us a call so we can book you in for your dogs Pet City Salon Day experience!

Kittens In Store Now

With the kitten season underway we have received two little kittens in store. One little boy and one little girl, both tabby. They are the cutest little things and have been keeping us entertained with their playful antics. We can’t imagine them being here long so best be quick!

New Frogs!

We have just received some new additions to the pet store, we now have Northern Green Tree Frog and  Magnificent Green Tree Frogs. The beautifully coloured animal is a pleasant creature and one of the most popular to keep in captivity. You do need a licence to keep these animals, but they need relatively low maintenance and are hardy captives.

Having Chemistry With Your Fish

Now we don’t mean a nice romantic, candlelit dinner or walks along the beach when we say chemistry. The main cause of fish loss and disease is poor water quality. The chemistry of your aquariums water is very important to your fish. Things that should be checked regularly include your waters pH and Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate levels. We offer a  complementary water testing service here in store in Balcatta so if it has been a while since you have looked at the chemistry of your aquariums water feel free to pop in with a sample ( ¼ cup in a freezer bag) and in less than 10 minutes we can see what is happening in your water.

Dwarf Lop Bunnies!

Available now are 9 little Dwarf Lop bunnies! They are absolutely adorable with their little pudgy faces and floppy ears! Lop bunnies make great pets as they are extremely docile and gentle. Being in high demand we can’t imagine them being here for very long so if you are interested, you best be quick!

Hand Raised Exotics In Store!

We had two 10 week old parrots join our little family today. They have been completely hand raised right from the start. The Alexandrians are a magnificent bird and make great talkers when they mature. These two little babies love a cuddle and are extremely docile. They will be looking for new families this weekend. Come in and meet the new kids!

Oh dear gosh –that time of the year is upon us already! We have a range of aquariums, bird cages, hermit crab tanks and reptile accessories that would make a great gift for those close to you.

 

Some gift ideas for your favourite canine would include a new collar, new toy, new bed or even a treat stash to help celebrate into the new year! Kitty might enjoy a new scratch post. Bunny may enjoy munching on some new wooden play pieces. Birdy may love to have his perches freshened and a new toy here and there. Your fish tank may look great with a new ornament or plants. We have all the kids covered – just ask us!

Guinea Pigs Are In The House!!

Here in Balcatta we have two of THE cutest little guinea pigs! They aren’t going to be here long as they are in high demand and limited supply at the moment. In store we have a range of pens and accessories for all of your small animal needs. We are open 7 days per week so come and say hi and check out the range this Sunday.

After Winter Extra Kilos

We are all not as keen to get out doors in the cold, wet and windy winter weather like that we are slowly saying goodbye too. Our pets are exactly the same and a lot of them tend to put on some extra kilos in the cooler months. Have you considered popping your four legged little friend on a food that is aimed at helping shed that extra weight? New Fish!!

We received our fish order this morning. We now have a great selection of some beautiful Blue Dolphins! We are increasing our selection of Malawi and South American Cichlids with now over 30 varieties available. Colours are bright and temperaments are wild! Come in and see them!

Our new range of Reptile Vivariums arrived in store today and should be up and on display in the next few days! The range includes new styles and colours at great prices! Come in and check them out!!

Puppies Found Homes!!

We had a busy day today in Balcatta saying good bye to three of our little four legged kids. Our little Maltese / Shih tzu X Cavalier, Schnauzer X Jack Russell and our little pudgy Beagle each found a new loving family. We look forward to finding new families for the rest tomorrow. The Mastiff X Bulldog, whom we have nicknamed Bullet, had a blast playing with the water bottles today. Hopefully tomorrow he can do the same in his new backyard!!
